Anything...

"Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?" Jeremiah 32:28

We are already hitting some serious road blocks in the direction we are starting to step in. But God is the God of impossible things. Nothing is too hard for Him. And so we pray...

Supertones Reunite!!!

Hey everyone,
Sorry I'm not updating this so much... our PowerBookPro is slightly broken and we are waiting for a new part to come in so they can fix it, which means I do not have anyone's email address... oh yay. But yeah, I wanted to post this bit of super exciting news! This is an email from my friend that I made on Canvasthreads.com...  an AMAZING artist who designs band tees, among other things. (I don't want to say who it is because I don't want to steal his heavenly rewards)

Hey Kristin,
I was talking with Jason from the supertones about you guys.  I did some design work for them and as payment they’re giving me 2 tickets to see them in Del Mar along with backstage passes and $100 worth of supertones merch.  Unfortunately I don’t live in California so I won’t be catching any of their tour dates and well ironically enough I don’t wear t-shirts.  I told him I wanted to pass that along to you and your husband, I explained how his band means a lot to you guys and I’m sure you all would be thrilled to see them again.  Anyways I hope you can make it to Del Mar.

We are going this Saturday and I can't wait!!! Travis's mom, LeAnn is also going with us, and they have a kids festival thing there too, so the girls are going to have a blast. God really does bless us just because He loves us!

In other news... since we began furlough I have gained 8 pounds!!! That is NOT good... sooo, I have started going on the elliptical, and will try to go on it every day. I do not want to "grow out" of all the new smaller clothes I had to buy because my old clothes  didn't fit. I am also done eating out, I think I have caught up on all the foods I missed out on and am happy to go back to eating similar things every day that are healthy and not full of calories. Plus the preservatives in the food her really mess with my stomach.

back...

Well, we are officially back in the States on furlough. So far the culture shock has been really minimal, and it is probably because of so much good advice we got from missionary friends and teachers. It is so good to see family and friends, and it was awesome to go to church on Sunday and see our home church worshipping the Lord together. We are trying to get our schedule set up, but man it is impossible not to run into conflicts. We are trying to make it work though.  The kids went back to bed after they woke up and then woke up at the completely normal time of 7:30 am, praise God!! Jet lag is so rough for kids. Kati also woke up with a new tooth this morning, that puts her at 6 teeth so far.

The only thing that is a bummer is that the food here is really messing with my system (and I have stopped eating out since the two attempts at that had SERIOUS consequences). Travis and the girls seem to be adapting to the food change with no major problems, and the girls are both so excited to be with family and friends, and truly enjoying all of their grandparents.

The plan is to be in CA for four months tops, but we'll see what the Lord has planned :)

I forgot to mention this earlier because I found out about it the day before we left Hungary, but one of my submissions for canvasthreads.com won. You can check it out here:

That is cool because I get a free shirt and $400, eventually, when it gets printed, but most of all I'm excited because I hope this shirt will be an ice breaker for people to use in sharing the gospel.

Well, that's all the update I can offer for now. Please keep praying for us, that God would show us what the next step is. He is so faithful, we know He will.

Poland!

Sorry I have not updated this thing much lately. Our schedules have been non-stop since we got back from Poland towards the end of April. It was a really blessed, and very busy time! We automatically doubled our already busy schedule once we got there because we got an opportunity to go into different college and high school English classes to help students practice with native speakers (and we had three different types, Australian, British, and American!). God really did a lot of things. We did a "Love Your Neighbor" festival for the kids in the Kula's old neighborhood. That was so much fun! There we crafts, food, games, songs, and most importantly lessons on creation, Noah's Ark, and the houses built on sand and the rock. The kids loved it, and each day the amount of kids grew! The really amazing thing was that it was horrible weather all three of those days, except when we were out for two hours every day. God did a literal miracle for us because He cared enough about 30 kids. We have such a loving and personal Heavenly Father!! The English Festival and classes also went well, we had about 5 to 10 people show up each night and at the end of the week we had a "Christian Coffee House" where we invited people to a room we rented and had coffee, tea, and homemade deserts. I was one of the people that got to share my testimony about how God does not say it is ok to sin because other people in your life make mistakes. I also played an original song on the guitar. At the end of the night, two of the women who came were deeply touched and when talking about grace, one of them started to weep. There were also two young men there that Travis was able to share the gospel with, pretty in depth! It was amazing for me to see how much he's grown through this experience! He is going to be such an awesome pastor someday, in God's timing of course. I love seeing his passion for the word and for sharing it with people! Well, here are some pictures... enjoy!!
(The first pictures is the Polish flag with a black ribbon on it... for the time of mourning. We were still able to do everything we planned, we just had less turn out for some events.)
